Alena had six garden-style buildings, with Clark County as the jurisdiction. Clark County interprets the fire code slightly different than most of the rest of the Pacific Northwest and holds all of the contractors to a high bar.
This experience prompted lots of deep digging into the nuances of the code that we’re now able to incorporate on the front end of projects moving forward including how the International Building Code, the Gypsum Assocations Fire Resistance and Sound Control Design Manual, and the United Laboratories / Independent Testing agencies all interact to specify how exactly a building should be constructed.
